Some of our younger guests have kindly written about their holiday at Treunaff

Our stay at Trenauff  (From a child's/teenager's point of view)
A teenager would probably think that going to Trenaff is an ideal opportunity to text/listen to iPod/ play on D.S from a different place than usual i.e. home but it's a lot different !!

Spending time in France was lovely but staying at Trenauff made it even better. The little complex is set in the countryside amongst corn fields and is an idyllic spot to stay at whilst on holiday.

Whilst we were in France we went on a canoeing trip on the Brest Canal which involved sliding down chutes at the side of the canal locks.  We did it in inflatable canoes but there were other types of boats too. We had great fun even though it was pouring down at the time! We were soaking at the end due to the rain and also the splashing but it was a fabulous experience and next time we stay at Trenauff we will definitely do the longer trip of 20 locks instead of 14.

There are also many markets to visit and these provide a great opportunity to buy souvenirs and presents if you need them.  As Trenauff is near the coast be sure to take your beach stuff because there is plenty of sand to enjoy yourselves on and lots of little seaside ports and villages to wander round.

On site there are many interesting and fun things to do. There is a bouledrome (which also features a dart board!), perfect for family competitions in the evening or on a rainy day. There are bikes which you can use to explore the near country side and the small French lanes are brilliant for both cycling and a little leg stretch as well.  Alternatively, you could test your skills with the small pitch and putt that is behind the cottages.  However, if the weather isn't great you will certainly be content curled up with your favourite book in one of the cosy cottages.  We would also recommend the produce from the huge garden - it is extremely tasty and you can pick it fresh!

One of our favourite things about staying at Trenauff was cycling to the bakery every morning to buy fresh bread and pain au chocolate or croissant for breakfast ...delicious!  The bakery also sells a range of sweet produce like apple pies and chocolate éclairs, great for a treat later in the day.
All in all it can be said that Trenauff is the best place to stay at if you are visiting Brittany because it offers such a wide range of activities that suit all the family.  We certainly enjoyed our stay and will unquestionably return!

One of our families who visit like to try something different each year - this will be their ninth visit to our gites (2013). One of their children, Alex (15) , has written about their sailing trip.

During our holiday we decided to go sailing at Port Blanc. Gill and John advised us on where the best sailing school was and what types of boats are available. We chose a class 8 boat. This activity required that we use a life jacket (provided) and waterproofs. We did not need a wet suit or swimming gear.

When we got on the boat the instructor told us what to do and assigned each person to do different jobs. I had to pull on a rope which pulls the jib to the opposite side. I also had to steer the boat and keep the boat steady and at top speed. On the boat my dad and brother were with me. We were out on the sea for approximately 3 hours which flew by. The cost of this day was 35 euros per person. We had a great day and enjoyed every bit of it and would recommend it to anyone.

The following are typical comments that can be found in the Treunaff guest comment books

Another excellent holiday - 2 weeks of unwinding in glorious countryside and villages. Explored the local area(saw deer, red squirrels and buzzards) and the beaches (Trestignel especially). Children enjoyed playing at Treunaff as much as the beaches. Gites excellent as ever and Treunaff is a fabulous home as much as a holiday venue for us. D.D. - Kingswinford

Nice to be away from the TV and telephone. A wonderful place to relax. Enjoyed the walks and flying the kite.  C.P. - Halesowen

You treated us like family and went way beyond what we could ever have wanted. Your home and hospitality are the best.  S.W. 0regon, USA.

We were joined on our holiday by a very active mole in the front garden which caused a lot of amusement. Lovely to see wild flowers and butterflies in abundance.  T.F. - Romsley.

Breton people very welcoming. The beaches and coves we have visited have been breathtaking. We were enthralled by our walk along the "Sentier de Douaniers".  L.D. - Staffs.

Ideal location. The boulodrome is a real bonus and the football area. The children had endless fun.  P.D. - Southampton.

An absolutely lovely holiday: time flew too fast. Brittany just spoils you for choice and we didn't do half the things we wanted. Still, it gives us a good excuse for coming back very soon.  N.H. - Stourbridge.

The cottage and surrounds are absolutely lovely. New Year's day consisted of Australia versus England test match of boules. England won!. The next test will be wellie tossing and gum leaf blowing!. Our stay was enjoyed by all. BONZA!!  M.C. - Australia.

If there is a better place to unwind I've yet to find it.  J.J. - Warley.

A great week in Brittany, visiting old favourites. Super accommodation at Treunaff, with more facilities than we need - a good fault. Thankyou. S and V Edwards. Bridgnorth

We had heard so much about Treunaff and John and Gill that we felt we already knew them well. This feeling has continued all week and Treunaff feels like home after only 7 days. A wonderful week, nowhere near long enough to appreciate all that the area has to offer. Loads to do for the boys, without even leaving Treunaff. Dominic's highlight was riding on John's tractor!. Marvellous hospitality in a stunning location. We will be back again (and again!) M.W. Stourbridge

We are experienced gite visitors, but never have we stayed in such a comfortable and well equipped one. Everything one could wish for and such kind and generous hosts. We have had a delightful week. Thankyou. P.K. Canterbury
