Interesting places to visit when you holiday at Treunaff in Brittany

Chateau de Rosanbo

This is situated close to the small town of Plouaret and quite often has speciality days such as the day of the Bentley Owners Club.

A splendid drive with spectacular views of the granite rock coastline. Plenty of parking spaces to enjoy a walk. Take in Le Gouffre and Plougrescant.

Perros-Guirec

A typical Breton yachting town, good restaurants and creperies, boat trips in season, and a casino too.

Ploumanach

A short trip away from Perros-Guirec. Make sure you turn right and follow the winding road to the centre where there isA view of Ploumach Brittany a good car park. Walking shoes are a must for the coastline walk where the rocks of peculiar shapes are not to be missed. Look also for the lifeboat station and see if you would fancy being launched from there in stormy seas. Again you will find good food at a price to suit.

Beaches

In this area small ports and beaches are to be inspected in order to appreciate the area. Safe bathing, windsurfing and sand surfing can be found at St. Michel en Greve. Here in season there are beach creches. Plestin en Greve is another beach on the same wide sweeping bay. These two resorts are the closest to Treunaff.

Menez-Bre

A hill rather like Clent Hills in England, from where, on a good clear day, you can see for miles. Approximately six miles from Treunaff beyond Belle Isle en Terre and Louargat.

Parc d'Armorique

A large National Park. A good stopping off point is Huelgoat (about an hour's drive from the house). Boulders here have covered over a river and from the bridge at the end of the lake you just take a small walkway and soon you will come to the devil's cauldron and also the open theatre. Ideal walking and cycling country - also in the town good food - especially on the side of the lake at the head of the road opposite the aforementioned walkway. There is also a honey shop over the walkway bridge (going out of town and then first right) worth a visit for the different types that should treat or cure any ailment.

Pontrieux

Pretty little town on the River Trieux. Boat rides in season showing the 'Lavoirs' - the private wash houses which are a joy to see. Steam train from Pontrieux to Paimpol is a must as is a visit to La Roche Jagu, a chateau on a cliff overlooking the estuary and in which grounds there are many laid out walks and plants of botanical interest.
